A sheriff resigns his position after believing he is responsible for killing his best friend. After living in the high country for some time, he comes to the rescue of his deceased friend's daughter who then hires him as her ranch foreman. The two then fall in love but complications arise when the woman hears about the foreman's involvement in her father's death.
